One Inch Cupcakes

Okay, I admit it. Since doing my Inchie Art tutorial, I’m hooked on inchies. I’m even posting another inchie art tutorial very soon. Are you as intimidated by inchies as I was? Why not try out my Inchie Art tutorial and put your own spin on it. Beth Ullman caught my attention by playing along with my tutorials each week, and that is how she became one of my Design Team members. You can see Beth’s inchie art card she recently created after viewing my tutorial.
Cupcake Inchie Instructions
Using watercolour paper, cut out 9 one-inch pieces
Stamp miniature cupcakes at random
With a 0 and 1 size paintbrush, paint colour onto cupcakes. This is done by dipping your brush into a tray of water, dabbing wet brush onto paper towel to absorb a little bit of the water. Next, take your brush and pick up colour from the tip of your Tombow or SU watercolour marker and place the colour onto your image. Rewet brush and blend colour.
Layer several times with the same colour to achieve an intense shade.
Technique Junkie Newsletter alert
When I watercolour my images, I like to add homemade backgrounds. After spending so much time making my images look pretty, I like to take it to the next step and create my own backgrounds. Homemade backgrounds enhance the finished product. Wouldn’t you agree?
My card uses the Waxy Cuttlebug technique, found in the April 2008 issue.
Cupcake stamps will be available on my new website this Saturday.
