How to Emboss Your Oversized Card

“How do you emboss a 6″ x 6″ card front?” This is a question I have been asked, time and time again. Today I am going to show you one of the easiest ways to do just that. Most of my cards are 6″ x 6″ so I am always trying to come up with something that looks interesting and discovered this technique when I was wanting to emboss my 6″ x 6″ card.
My designer paper was made by using the Abstract Embossing Technique from the April 2005 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter.  My image is a download from Twisted Papers. My Flourish stamp is from Fancy Pants and the sentiment is from Stampin’ Up.

Basic supplies this week:Â Small Cuttlebug folders.

Today’s card is a little bigger than 6 x 6. If you want to create the same size as I did, make the small square 4 3/4″ and the large square 5 3/4″.

Place the small Cuttlebug folder so the pattern is against both the side and the bottom edges. Repeat for each corner.

Each corner is embossed and the card front is ready to be decorated.

Another view of the embossed corners.
Please link me up to your cards that use this technique. I’d love to see what you did.
An index of all my tutorials is listed in my Tutorial page above.
