Merry Christmas Darling

Merry Christmas Darling was inspired by so many things.  Number one on my list was Donnie because I still didn’t have a card made for him.  I even resorted to buying him one.  This card will be given to Donnie on Christmas evening, once the dust has settled and everyone has gone.

Sweet and Sassy Stamps has a new sketch this week, and since the Technique Junkie Newsletter is this week’s sponsor, I was asked to play along.  Here is the sketch if you want to play along.

The lime green, in my card, uses the Brayered Brilliance technique.  It looks like designer paper, don’t you think?  The pointsettia is a digital image from Sweet and Sassy Stamps.  I had so much fun colouring it while watching a Christmas movie this afternoon.  The designer paper I used on my card is from K&Co.

You may have noticed that I have been making cards with less ribbon.  Surprisingly, you are telling me that you like my new style.  It is a challenge to create one-layer cards, don’t you agree?

So, tell me.  Do you prefer cards with ribbons, boxes and bows or do you like clean lines?

Lovely cards…love the Snowman especially. I dn’t know how to do digital art, but as a stamp he sure is cute. Not familiar with the technique you mentioned on your Darling card, but it looks great. Less bows and ribbons for me – I like the clean lines:) Happy Holidays!

Beth
DH will love this card.
I love clean and simple but also small ribbons and small bows, but I always feel one layer cards are bland when I make them. So I mix it up. What can I say? I am a Gemini !!

Hya Beth! Love the poinsettia! I thought it was just a picture you’d placed on the card as your colouring is so good!

Well, as for me, I love both styles as long as they are bright.
While I’m here Sweety, I wish you and Don the merriest of Christmases and may your New Year bring you peace and happiness in abundance! Love Viv xxx

Your card is way gorgeous! I love one layers cards for the simple lines and being able to mail them easier and cheaper! But the cards with the ribbons and bows melt my heart with all those yummy layers and textures!

Gorgeous card Beth, Donnie is going to love it. Your coloring of the poinsettia is perfect. I actually made a card using this same layout before I knew of this challenge.

As far as stamping, I like clean and simple, but not to simple. When I make a card I always think about mailing it, I try not to add to much too make it too bulky. You need to create what you feel comfortable with… either way I think your cards are great! ~Jovi
