Yellow, Red, Blue
It’s Saturday, and the DT has some awesome things to show you, using Yellow, Red and Blue. Normally you have the opportunity to link up your card for a chance to win a prize, but my blog is corrupt and will not accept comments. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy these lovely cards and projects.

SD35: They Say It’s Your Birthday
JustRite stamps are flying off the shelves
and a new shipment has arrived.
The design team are having a lot of fun with their new JustRite stamps. This week we are celebrating birthdays, and what a colourful celebration it is.
We think JustRite stamps are a nice addition to our store because they are so versatile. JustRite has a very unique design. The hand held block holds two images: the center design and a circular design/sentiment.  Personalization doesn’t get better than that!
Canadian, eh!
Our store is Canadian, so you pay in Canadian funds.
Need some inspiration? Visit our design team blogs (listed on the side bar). Jerusha has a tutorial for you.

SD Challenge 33: Luck of the Irish

Rose’s card
The Leprachauns are out and about and I caught a glimse of a couple of them. If I catch one, do you think they will show me where the pot of gold is? Our design team is getting into the Irish spirit and created some awesome cards for you.
If you want to play along, all you have to do is create an Irish related card or project, link it up to us, and mention us in your post. If you post to an on-line forum, name it SD33.

SD Challenge: Easter

Here comes Peter Cotton Tail, hopping down the bunny trail. Don’t you remember singing that as a kid? Easter was always so special. We woke up to the Easter Bunny’s arrival and had new dresses for church. My Polish grandmother would take mom, my sisters and I to church to have our Easter baskets (filled with food) blessed. As I got older I continued on with my own tradition and sewed matching dresses for my daughter, Sarah, and I.
What is your Easter tradition? I would love to hear about it.
Easter will be here soon, so we thought we would get creative and get ahead of the game by creating something for Easter. We are excited to announce that:
We now carry JustRite stamps
To view our stamps click here
Here is what set we used today:

The fun thing about JustRite is that they sell their wooden handle separately, so you can interchange a variety of sets. Each stamp is interlocking and fits snuggly into the handle. The circular sentiments are separate from the center image so you can change the colour of your ink or use a different sentiment.
The Design Team have created some cute projects for you…

Sunflowers and Dragonflies Challenge 27: ATC’s

Howdy. Can it really be Saturday already?! Where does the time go. I can’t believe it’s the end of January. Are you feeling the same way?
We love our ATC’s here at Sunflowers and Dragonflies, so we’re doing another ATC challenge. If you are looking for stamps that are perfect for ATC’s, may I suggest our very own Beautiful Life series. These ladies have coordinating flourishes and fit perfectly on an ATC.  These stamps can be stamped just as-is or can be coloured in. Our ladies are ethnic in origin too.
My card uses the recent Side Step Card technique from Splitcoast Stampers. The decorative paper was made using the Technique Junkie’s Waxy Cuttlebug technique. The ATC uses our Melody and Melody Flourish, and the sunflower was made using Spellbinder’s sunflower die cut. Many layers of yellows, oranges, burgundy and brown ink brought the flower to life. The butterfly is from K&Co.
This week’s prize

S&D Challenge 23: Faux Stitching

Faux stitching has been a popular technique that adds pizzaz to your cards. We like it so much, we encorporated this technique into our S&D Challenge 23. Feel intimidated? Don’t be–I have demonstrated how to do faux stitching so you can join in the fun too. This week’s randomly selected winner will win four stamps from our Beautiful Life series. You will receive both Amber and Melody as well as their coordinating flourishes.
Card Details:Â Melody and Melody Flourish was stamped out onto the Technique Junkie Watercolour Distress technique.
Faux Stitch Tutorial

Using a ruler, punch holes into your cardstock in even increments.

With a ruler (or without) draw a line from one hole to another to imitate sewing machine stitching.

To do a zig zag pattern, draw a line on the back of your cardstock. Do this on all four sides, or the areas you wish to place the faux stitching.

With a ruler, draw lines at regular increments. Draw a second line underneath the first, and place a dot in between each draw line above.

With a ruler (or without) draw a line from one dot to another to imitate sewing machine stitching.
