The Best is Yet To Be

Good morning folks!  Wow, it’s the middle of the week already, and I have so much to do.  One of the must-do items has been checked off the list today; entering the  BasicGrey Challenge 34 Sketch.

All my layers of  BasicGrey Urban Prairie paper were sewn.  I practically sew on all of my cards these days; the results are so appealing in real life.  Sewn paper lays so nice, especially in a four-layer card like this one.  The paper with the butterfly was cut stratigically so the butterfly would appear nicely on the top layer.

The Inkadinkado tree was coloured with Tombow markers.  Then using the huffing technique I stamped out the image.  Stampin’ Up’s sentiment was stamped directly onto the DP.  What is the huffing technique you ask–it’s deep breathing on the stamp to add moisture to the ink.

There is still time to play along with this challenge.  Simply visit the BasicGrey Challenges blog.

Thank you for stopping by.

Tree Stamp:  Inkadinkado; Sentiment:  Stampin’ Up; Ribbon:  Michael’s; Designer Paper:  BasicGrey Urban Prairie; Cardstock:  SU Tempting Turquoise

Hello

basicgrey-challenge-32_whiff-of-joy

Wow, it’s Friday already–and May.  Where does the time go?!  I’m so happy to be off this weekend because I have a lot of catching up to do in my studio.

Today’s card is for BasicGrey’s Challenge 32.  I thought the sketch would work well with this Whiff of Joy image and text from an old book I picked up at a flea market.  If you look closely, you will see that there is actual text inside the book.

I chose BasicGrey’s Euphoria, sewing three strips onto the card front, and around the card front.  Edges were distressed with Adirondack’s Pool.  Text was added to the front to reflect the angel reading.

Enjoy your weekend.

Good morning.  Following BasicGrey’s sketch challenge 28, once again, I created a special card for a special someone.   The designer paper is BasicGrey’s Sultry.  This paper is available at my store.

Enjoy your day.  Happy Stamping!

Wow, two posts in one day.  Lucky you!  I’m posting my Saturday post early so I can get this card entered into the BasicGrey Challenge from last week. The challenge was to use this sketch.

For this card, I pulled out my new Stamping Bella Ketto Images.  Oh my, just take a peak–they are so adorable!  I pulled out my BasicGrey Urban Prairie paper and got busy.  Do you recognize Stamp’n Up’s Cool Caribbean?  It goes so well with the designer paper.

Have a nice weekend!

Christmas Greetings

Posted under Sketch Challenges, cards

Good morning.  Keeping warm?  Today’s card is for Splitcoast Stamper’s sketch challenge.  It reminded me of a Christmas present so I used ribbon, and even added a flower bow.

To soften the edges of the squares, I punched out snowflakes and glued them onto the pointed edges.  All layers of paper were run through the Cuttlebug.  Crystals were added to the center of the flower.

Here is the sketch if you want to play around.  You can see the cards created with this sketch by clicking here.

Stamp:  SU’s Fabulous Flowers; Paper; SU’s White and Real Red; Ribbon, Michael’s; snowflake punch
