Let it Snow
Hurray for Thursday! Now that I am done my watercolour class, it’s back to beer and wings with our friends. It’s my routine to come home and sit and work in the studio from 3:30 to 7:00 and then leave. I’m trying so hard to get my sisters Christmas cards done. This card was created with Odd Bird Planet images and Flair paper. I used my Cricut to cut out the trees. Have a great day!
Tutorial Tuesday: Christmas Invitation
It’s the holiday season and many of us are having parties. Today’s tutorial shows you how to create your own lovely invitation. This criss cross card is extra tall so you will have plenty of room to add writing. Have fun creating your own invitations.
Supplies:Â Double-sided paper, double-sided tape, embellishments
Cut the following:
1 – 5 1/2 x 6 1/2 for back of card
2 – 5 1/2 x 6 for front
1 – 4 3/4 x 5 1/2 for mat
1 – 4 1/2 x 5 1/4 top piece
Using the two front pieces, put the wrong sides together
Cut the paper on an angle. It may be helpful to create a template, like I did, so no mistakes are made cutting into your good paper.
Place double-sided tape on the back of the criss crossed front. Adhere it to your card back.
My designer paper was so pretty, I chose to cut out the image to decorate my card.
Paper:Â Basic Grey

Button Week
Last week was Button Week so I created some cards to celebrate the occassion.
Marko Reindeer is perfect because he already has a button.
Green and Red buttons were sewn on. Image was coloured with Prismacolour pencil crayons and blended with OMS.

Northpole Greetings
Happy Holidays everyone! These little elves are taking a minute out of their hectic holiday schedule to come out and say hello to you from the North Pole. They were so surprised to see all the snow that fell in Sarnia, in only 24 hours, and are preparing themselves by packing extra hot chocolate in Santa’s sleigh.
This fun Kaleidoscope card was filmed for the Technique Junkie Newsletter, and if you are a subscriber you can find many other examples, along with the directions for this card in the April 2008 edition. It was this card that got me hired on with Pat’s newsletter, and I’ve been having a blast since. Speaking of Pat, she is having Blogstravaganza month whereby she posts Christmas cards using techniques from past issues. You are invited to play. Visit Pat’s blog, Technique Trail, for details.
Every image is from the Sunshine Designs line at the Stamp Barn.
Images are watercoloured with Tombow markers.
Stay tuned for Christmas tutorial Tuesday’s going on now until Christmas.

Cuttlebug Snowman Treat Box
Good morning. Well, here we are at Thursday already, and the holiday season is getting closer. So much to do in such little time. I’m in the midst of making little treat bags for my 15 co-workers, and saw Mel’s tutorial for a snowman treat box. I’m a little ashamed of my watercolouring, because I rushed it–another sign of the holiday season. My watercolouring that I will post later this week will be so much better–I promise!
These adorable little elves are from Sunshine Design line at The Stamp Barn. I must boast about the quality of the Stamp Barn rubber. Images are always crisp and clean. Enjoy the rest of your day–I’m off to work.
Christmas (Quick & Easy) Wreath
Quick and easy is nice at this time of year. Make one or two extras for that special girlfriend. With so many lovely Christmas papers out today, it will be hard to make just one. My sample uses Basic Grey DP.

Supplies:Â Sytrofoam wreath, 4 double sided sheets of Christmas paper, straight pins, ribbon
Cut 4 1/2″ lengths of paper, in a variety of widths (1/4″ to 1″)

Holiday Gated Tag Greetings
Howdy folks! How is your weekend going? I’m busy creating Christmas cards. For some reason I can never get in the mood to create Christmas cards until they are almost ready to be mailed. I guess I thrive on deadlines. You too? This is one of my very favourite Technique Junkie Newsletter techniques, and it is called the Gated Tag. If you subscribe, you will find the directions in the February 2008 issue.
Surprise, no stamped images. Instead, I pulled out my Christmas Cheer cricut cartridge and went to work cutting images. Have a great day!

Cuttlebug Glowing Under the Christmas Tree
Joining in Pat’s Blogstravaganza, I created the Cuttlebug Glow background from the October ‘07 edition of the Technique Junkie Newsletter. Not all backgrounds have to be used on cards; here I created a box (my tutorial here) and covered the box to house a Christmas present for my daughter. She is crazy over pink, so I made it as pink as I could. What you can’t see from this photo, is the extreme shine to this background which is why it is called the Cuttlebug Glow technique.
The elegance of this box allows it to go under the tree just as it is. I don’t want to hide the pretty background at all. The Odd Bird Planet sentiment completes the elegant look, don’t you think?
