Hello.  Are you having a good week so far?  I hope you have nice weather and have time to spend outdoors.  After a long winter, we could use the change of pace.

Today’s card is for the In the Air challenge at Impression Obsession.  I inked up my new stamp Dream Butterfly H1774 and used my tombow markers for the Blender Pen Technique from the June 2008 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter.  My designer paper is hello luscious from BasicGrey.

Hello.  Did my fellow Canadians enjoy the long weekend?  I worked as I’m training on a new job.  I left a Monday to Friday job to take a job that has 3-11 shifts and every other weekend.  Call me crazy, but I’m going to like it.  I’m going to be the hospital switchboard operator.

I did find time this weekend to work on this week’s TJ Technique of the week.  The technique used came from the newest issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter and is called Distress Stain Watercolouring.  Those who follow me will know how much I enjoy painting and colouring.

Good morning folks.  Today I have a Designer Paper Starburst card to share with you.  This technique can be found in the April 2013 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter.  For those of you who are subscribers you will notice that this is the technique of the week, so please don’t forget to share your work with us on our Yahoo group.  Myoriah Beth, I’ll be expecting yours–LOL.

My designer paper is paper that I have had in a matt stack for mega years and is from K & Co.  My flower image is from Hero Arts and although I had the stamp for years, it is the first time I inked it up.  Haven’t you heard that before?  How many do the same thing?  When I told Al he teased me because he thought it was the craziest thing he’s heard.  Guess he doesn’t understand stampers. We have good intentions, though, wouldn’t you agree?  My sentiment is from Stampin’ Up!

Recently I won a $25 gift certificate to Impression Obsession and this is what I bought.   My spending didn’t stop there.

I bought four background stamps.  I love that they are 5.75″ x 5.75″ so they cover the whole card.   My collection of their background stamps is large.

And finally I ordered some deeply etched red rubber.

I’m doing the happy dance–my stamps arrived today and I bought the mother-of-the bride dress and a dress for the wedding shower today.  My daughter and I had a wonderful day shopping.  I wanted her approval in my dress and when she saw me in the dress I bought, it said it all.  I”ll be sure to post wedding photos after her August 16th wedding.

Do you want to learn a new way to use your alcohol inks?  Today I will show you how easy it is to create a background with blending alcohol inks using a baby wipe.  It is an easy technique with few supplies needed.

Supplies:  Alcohol inks, baby wipes and glossy cardstock

Lay two baby wipes on top of each other and fold several times

Drop alcohol inks onto the edge of the baby wipe as shown here

Swipe your baby wipe across the glossy cardstock

Repeat in the opposite direction if you so choose.  When alcohol ink dries out, reapply ink to your baby wipe.

Stamp directly onto background or use the background for your embellishments and/or coloured images.

This week’s challenge at Impression Obsession is “I’m Thankful For.”  Can you tell what I’m thankful for?  Yup, snuggle time with my boyfriend.  Al is very special to me and I’m so thankful that our best friend introduced us.  I’ll make you jealous by telling you that he loves to cook and we spend a lot of time in the kitchen together.  I don’t even mind that he likes to take over.   We often pull out my favourite Weight Watchers cookbook and experiment with new recipes.

I used Small Couple D13078 and stamped it out onto white card stock.  Next, I masked the couple to create the sun.  Then I masked the sun and the couple and brayered a Kaleidacolor Spectrum over top to create the sky.  Next, I added the grass with Prismacolor pencil crayons and OMS.

My background is called Embossed Stickles and is from the new Shimmer Glimmer Sparkle n Shine CD from the Technique Junkie Newsletter.

Hi folks.  Do you like 3-D cards?  Here is a card that I came up with myself.  I call it the Kaleidoscope card.  This style of card is featured on the Technique Junkie Newsletter 3D and Fancy Folds CD which can be purchased on my side bar.  This card has four layers and is so much fun.

From the Technique Junkie Newsletter 3D and Fun Folds CD comes the Tee Pee card.  I had a lot of fun making this.  All stamped images are Stamping Bella.  You can order the CD from the drop down menu bar on the right side of my blog, or you can order here.

There is a piece of velcro on the side of the card so the card can lay flat for shipping.

I enjoyed pulling out my Prismacolor pencil crayons and OMS and spent the evening colouring.  Stickles were added to make things sparkle.

Happy Saturday!   How is the weather treating you?  Here in Sarnia, Ontario, we had wet snow this morning.  Ugh!

I am in love with Impression Obsession stamps and decided it’s time to join in on their challenges, so today’s card is for their Flowers for You Challenge.  My butterfly stamp G1753 and DIE018-V are from Impression Obsession.

What would my card be without a technique from the Technique Junkie Newsletter?  I used the Blender Pen technique from June 2008.  Wow, it’s hard to believe that technique was so long ago.  I used Tombow markers for my blender pen technique.
