How to Make a Curly Christmas Tree

Sunflowers and Dragonflies, Curly Christmas Tree 6

Hello there.  It’s been a while since I posted a tutorial and since I wanted to make something for my desk at work, I decided to film a tutorial on how to create this cute little curly paper tree.  Nestled behind my tree is my Peek A Boo hole card that is a featured technique from the October issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter.

The paper I used was the Christmas matt stack from this year’s Stampin Up catalogue.  I hope this tree inspires you.

Supplies:  Designer Paper, Staight Pins, Styrofoam Cone, Bone Folder, Paper Trimmer

Trim Paper into 6 1/2″ x 1 /2″ and 5 3/4″ x 1/2″ strips

Using your bone folder, curl the strips of designer paper.  Keep the larger and the smaller strips of paper together in their own little pile.

Put a straight pin into the centre of the curly designer paper and push into the styrofoam cone.

Place the largest strips on the bottom of the cone and about half way up, start to add the smaller strips.  Continue adding curly paper to the cone until it is completely covered.

Have fun creating your tree!

What a cute little tree, and a very easy one, so all of us can make it. Even the kids can help make this or make their own to decorate their room too, which is sooo cool. And I love the colors, you´ve used for this one too, it looks great Beth.
Hope you have a wonderful December with lots of great fun all month.
