How to Use PearlEx

How to use PearlEx can be a puzzling thing, so today I’ll show you how simple it can be.  More information can be found by reading The Magic of PearlEx where you will find 50 interesting links.  Who can resist the beautiful shimmer that PearlEx leaves behind.

PearlEx needs to be “fixed” to the surface.  Gum Arabic can be added to the PearlEx powder, or a fixative sealer can be sprayed onto the finished product.  The choice a personal one.

Supplies:  stamp, VersaMark, black embossing powder, PearlEx, Gum Arabic (optional), brush, black cardstock

Stamp out image with VersaMark, sprinkle black embossing powder over the image and heat emboss.

One method of painting PearlEx onto cardstock is to dip the brush into water and paint directly onto the image.

A second method is to drop a dollop of powder, mixed with Gum Arabic and water.  Mix well.

Once image has been painted, spray with fixative if Gum Arabic was not used.  Fixative can be purchased at any art or hobby shop.
