Vacation, Part 2

We toured the original beer brewery of Alexander Keith’s, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and was one of the highlights of the trip.  I forgot how homesick I was for Halifax, and Nova Scotia in general.  I wish it were possible to move back.

The biggest highlight of our trip was visiting Oak Island, Nova Scotia, where The Curse of Oak Island is filmed for A&E.  This realistic show is seen in 58 countries and is the #1 show on Tuesday nights, beating out sports.  For those who don’t know the story, it is said major treasure is buried on Oak Island and since the mid 1900’s, men have long excavated the area in the hope that they can recover what is buried.  It’s a show that Al and I have been watching since it started four years ago with the cast seen in this poster.  We saw many of the cast members on the day of our tour.

Our guide was Charles Barkhouse, one of the cast members of the TV show.

This is the swamp that was emptied out in search of the gold.

This is the 10X borehole where divers were sent down to find the treasure, but the silt was so thick, the divers could not see their hand in front of their face.

I’m curious, do you watch the show?

I’ve not heard of the show. We only recently got cable, so we wouldn’t have seen it. Did they find the treasure?
