Metal and Brad Tutorial

Hi folks.  I was inspired by a UK Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine where I saw a similar card, so I decided to put a tutorial together for you.  It’s just the perfect masculine card.  I gave my card to my son-on-law as a congratulations on your promotion card.  The stamp I used is Stay Humble by Technique Junkies.  As luck would have it I found a package of five coloured shiny bristol board at the dollar store.  Once I found out it did emboss to my expectations, I went back to buy more, but it was all gone.  Bummer.  My card measures 5″ x 5″, but you can do any size, including an A2 size.

Cut your cardstock into a variety of sizes.

Emboss your cardstock.

It is hard to tell where my card ends are because I neglected to shoot my tutorial on a darker background.  My edge is on the left hand side of my cardstock.  Keep all edges aligned along the edges of your cardstock, overlaping where necessary.  Just add a small amount of adhesive to the back of your cardstock as you will want to move your cardstock around.

This is what my card looks like before the placement of brads and stamped image.

Using your poking tool, put holes into each corner of your cardstock then add a brad.  Brads do not need to be added to the underside of your stamped image.  You will want to add a brad to each corner of your stamped image.  I used a variety of coloured metallic brads.

I hope I inspired you to try a new way to add pizzaz to your card.
