Technique Junkies July New Release and Sale
Ah, July–sand and sea, mermaids and starfish, beach and love. Yes, that’s a sum up of this month’s new release from Technique Junkies. As someone who lived 14 years on Canada’s East Coast, this month’s collection of stamps are close-to-my-heart.
As always, new release stamps are 15% off until July 8th, and if you use code TJ10Beth, you will receive an additional 10% off–that’s a whopping 25% off. The remainder of your cart will be 10% off. We are more than just stamps, so take a look around Technique Junkie’s website.
Stamps used: Drink Like a Fish and Wish Upon a Starfish
To create my background, I used Distress Inks in a blue and a green. First, I placed the green on my non-stick craft sheet, spritzed with water and placed my 110lb cardstock over top of the ink. I dried the layer and repeated with blue. The results are just as I hoped for.
Next, I stamped and heat embossed my mermaid with white embossing powder, over top of my dried background. The sea floor was floor was created with Stampendous chunky metallic aseasonings embossing enamel.
Using watercolour paper, the mermaid, shells and starfish were stamped and embossed with gold embossing powder, then painted with watercolour paints.
The embossed images were then cut into shape then glued onto the card. Even the liquid drink was carefully cut and glued down.
Stamps used: Stays at the beach and Burst
Using turquoise-green cardstock, Burst was stamped out with VersaMark and embossed with gold embossing powder and heat set. Over top of the background, one of my handmade backgrounds (see above for directions as to how the background was created) was cut into a circle. Stays at the Beach was stamped out in black, and then stamped out onto watercolour paper. The kissing fish on watercolour paper was watercoloured, fussy cut and then pop dotted over top of the fish stamped out onto the handmade background.
