Merry Christmas from England

Hello there.  This beautiful embroidered card was made by my penpal/girlfriend for Christmas.  Isn’t it exquisite?  I have it sitting beside me on my basket storage unit.

Lynn and I became penpals at age 13, and here at 58 we are dear friends.  After writing back and forth for 13 years, Lynn came out to visit me when I lived on Prince Edward Island (Canada), then again on my move to Nova Scotia, then again three times here in Ontario.  Back in April 2015, I went to visit Lynn.  Plans were in the works for Al and I to go to England next summer, but due to Covid, we had to reschedule.

It is uncanny just how much we have in common, besides being the same age.  We love cross-stitching, card-making, same style of clothing, reading (both avid readers), and being in the same line of work (although I changed paths eight years ago).

Pretty cool, eh?!

Have a great Boxing Day for my fellow Canadians.

that’s lovely, so neat to have found a friend so close to your own loves!
I am still in touch with a friend I had while we were stationed in England.

That’s a great memory and story, Bethie. I remember my first pen pal. Her name was Lori Heimer from Adams, Minnesota. I found her years later on Myspace. She died in a car wreck not too long after that. 🙁 XOX
