Strong Cup of Coffee
This is a super fun fold, and a perfect way to use my handmade background. See below for instructions on how to make this card.
As you know, Technique Junkies had their new release on January 1st. As usual, new stamps are 15% off, but when you use my code TJ10Beth, new stamps are 25% off. All other products are 10% off when you use my code.
Instructions for Making my Card
Creating My Background:
- Cut white cardstock to 4? x 5 1/4? and rub your embossing buddy all over the cardstock.
- Using VersaMark, stamp Whimsical Coffee Background out and cover with clear embossing powder.
- Using Distress Oxides in colours broken china and evergreen bough, I used my Ink Blending Brushes to blend the colour onto my cardstock.
- Spritz background with Shimmering Iridescent Bliss Topping. Using a baby wipe, wipe off the coloured background.
- Once fully dried, iron the decorated front by placing a copy paper on the bottom of your image, and one over top. Use dry setting. You will see the embossing powder stick to the top sheet, and that’s a good thing.
- Using Love, Laughter and Coffee, place your stamp onto your Misti, or other stamping tool.
- Using watercolour markers (I used Tombows), colour your stamp as desired. I inked up each word approximately three to four times, huffing in between inking, and stamping out my sentiment.
Creating Folded Card:
Tempting Turquoise cardstock
cut at 5 1/2? x 8 1/2?
scored at 2 1/8? and 4 1/4?
White cardstock
cut at 2? x 5 3/8?
cut at 4? x 5 1/4?

Jan 5, 2021 - 08:01:26Bethie- what a fun and gorgeous card. Your colors are spot on! Happy New Year!!!
Beth, this is so pretty!
Oh my gosh, Beth – this is gorgeous! I love the colors, the fold, and the combination of the two stamps! And if that’s not enough, what fun that you only used a strip of the background stamp! You rocked this one, my friend – LOVE it! One thing about my Covid life keeping me so busy, is that these are all a surprise to me – I haven’t had time to go to the album and look at any of them! Hugs and blessings, my friend!
These coffee cards are all the rage right now but I am not a coffee drinker, I do like the fun fold to it!
A great card!
Beautiful card and wonderful fold design. And thank you for the tutorial, I’ve Pinned it. Gee, I am so sorry to hear you are still having that much trouble with your ankle. I still don’t want to believe mine could be this way for the rest of my days. How is your pre-D going? Is it hard food-wise? Hugs! XOX
