ATC Swap-Bee Theme

Hello friends!  How are you enjoying your weekend so far?  I worked today and had a great day.  I was off yesterday, and worked on another ATC swap I’m in.  You see, Design Team work for Technique Junkies, shooting videos, looking after custom card orders, preparing Christmas calendars, and working full time doesn’t keep me busy enough, so I just had to sign up not for just one ATC swap, but four.  Poor Al always asks the same question: “why do you do that to yourself?”  All I do is laugh and say, “but you know, I get so excited with doing new things.”  How many are the same way?

This Artist Trading Card (ATC) is 2 1/2″ x 3 1/2″.  I used Stampin’ Ups! Honey Bee stamp set for the theme “Bee.”  Each host describes what we are to add to our ATC.  This one was easy because it only had to be bee related.

In another trade (card below) we were to design a summer card and use the word “summer.”  I made five of these:  one for myself, three to trade, and one for the hostess of the Summer ATC swap.  In this swap I watercoloured the sky and water.  I chose to keep my masked sun white because my boat was white and I wanted a good balance of colour.  I love to add charms to my ATCs as well, so I added a Stampin’ Up! sailing wheel.

More about ATC’s:

  1. Must be 2 1/2 x 3 1/2′
  2. Must fit into a sleeve for protection (sport trading card holders are perfect)
  3. Use any medium you like (stamps, hand drawing, paintings, etc.)
  4. ATC’s are for TRADE only.  Original pieces that are sold are called Art Card Additions
  5. Can be an original piece for trade or mass produced by hand
  6. Each card should have their ATC numbered ie 2/5 two out of five; as well as the name of the artist, date, and trade name theme or a title

Where I trade my ATC’s:

ATC’s for All

Swap Bot

I’ve been known to host a trade with blogging friends, or have been asked by a member of my trading groups for a personal trade.

If you sign up to trade, you can find me under the name of sunflowersanddragonflies.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello my lovely friend! Very pretty ATC’s, both. Why did I know you’d do a sailboat? lol You have balanced the colors and composition perfectly. I am really enjoying your ventures into the new. Once upon a time, I got just as excited as you about ATC’s and trading. I kept them all in 3″-thick ring binders in the baseball card sleeves, 9 to a page (18 if you used the backs and I did). When I’d filled the third binder, I was like, I’m done. I made all those ATC’s and gave them all away and none for myself, so good for you to make one for yourself. Poor Al — hahaha, in my mind I hear Peg from Married With Children. Hugs and Good Weekend to you and “Poor Al”! xoxo

These are just great! Wonderful ATC’s, and I can see how each one could be incorporated into a full sized card!

your bee card is so lovely, the details in he bees, especially their wings is so cool! Love the honeycomb over the stamped image, like how the sentiment goes over the arch like that.
So love the colors you used for the sky in the ATC, and the wheel charm was a great touch to it that’s for sure!

Love the “bee” ATC and I just happen to have the Bee set. I was in an ATC swap a while back then in an index card swap not too long ago. Love both of your ATCs.

Cute as can BEE! And I love the sailboat card, as well. I miss having the time to join in swaps. Maybe someday…. Anyway, beautifully done – those you swapped with were happy dancing when these came in the mail! Hugs!
