Working with GelliPlate

Two or three times a month, Carol and I get together to make a mess–whether it be with our GelliPlates, inspiration from Somerset Studio and Art Journaling magazines, or working in our art journals, we always have a blast while learning new things.  Here, Carol is working on her GelliPlate.  Let’s see what I’m up to…

Here you can see one of my Gelliprints and another Gelliprint in the works.  I love working with stencils.  Carol and I may have different styles and colours, but boy do we learn a lot from each other.  Carol’s go to for art journaling is Robyn McClendon and my go to is Carolyn Dube and Susan Rose.

Another one of my first Gelliprints

I do sign up for the occasional on-line art workshop.  There is just too much to learn, and so little time to do it.  I’m still working full-time and trying to learn as much as I can when I’m home.  How many of you are familiar with the GelliPlate or even have one?  Let me know your successful and not so successful story.

Thanks for stopping by

so neat you have someone to play with in person. I really need to get my plate out more often and have a play with it, I haven’t done so in awhile, maybe after I get all my Christmas cards made and in the mail 🙂

I’m so jealous of Carol! Wish I were close enough to play Gelli with you! I love these prints! I’ve watched several videos, and tried a few times. Some I liked a lot, others were rubbish! Thanks for inspiring me to keep trying, Beth and Carol!

You definitely get a lot of mileage out of your prints, I notice when you use them as backgrounds. I got into it when it first came out and didn’t get past monochrome prints. For some reason, color combos overwhelmed me. It also made me realize how antsy and nervous I got about getting stencils and rollers, etc. washed off quickly enough. Back before I got sick with the Arthurs, it would have been no problem. You definitely have to be good at multi-tasking! xoxo
