A Glance into my 14 years with Pat Huntoon

It is with heavy heart that this is my last post as a Technique Junkies designer.  After 14 fantastic years I am retiring from my position from the Technique Junkies Design Team.   You can continue to follow and subscribe to my blog because I will be showcasing new designs using Gelliplate backgrounds, Journal pages of all kinds, and you will even see me using  my favourite Technique Junkies stamps.  This past October, I made my first mini journal sized at 2 1/2″ x 3 1/4″ and I plan to make some more this year.

My start with Pat was as a writer for the Technique Junkie Newsletter, where to this day, you can see my work in the issues you have on hand, and on the Technique Junkie Newsletter website where you will find many, many Technique Junkie Newsletter step-by-step photos of card techniques along with some excellent samples from the Design Team members.  I highly encourage you to take a peek.

Then CD’s came along.  Pat developed many well-loved CD’s filled with new designs for CD titles such as Move it, Shape it, 3D Paper and Fun Folds, Emboss or Die, Fancy Folds and Motion Paper Crafts, Stampin’ Companion, just to name a few.  If you look closely you will find tutorials I have shot and wrote along with samples throughout the CD’s.  I still have my well-loved CDs–I’m old school.

Next, Pat took on a whole new venture with her purchase, of what we know now as, Technique Junkies.  Here, I continued to design, shoot step-by-step tutorials, before moving to YouTube videos. My YouTube video channel can be found here.

I have made many long-term friendships from the Technique Junkie Newsletter, Technique Junkies and Design Team members.  Pat, thank you for all the love and support you have shown me for the past 14 years.

As you can imagine I have made hundreds upon hundreds of cards.  My retirement wouldn’t be complete without sharing my work with you.  Showcasing 14 years would be long and drawn out, so I have selected a card for each year I worked with the stamp company, Technique Junkies.  Thank you for your support and friendship.

Sigh….what a bittersweet moment! I remember being so in awe of you when I would get my magazines. To this day, I’m STILL in awe of you, dear friend! I will continue to stalk your blog as long as my health holds out, and I’m able! You always seem to teach me a little something, or remind me to try a forgotten technique. You’ve inspired so many, and will continue to do so. I can’t wait to see you working magic with Gelli plate creations! I have one, and I get it out now and then, but will be eager to try new things that my Bethie teaches me!!! Take care, and keep in touch! Best of luck to you in your new endeavors!!!

After that many years I can only imagine the amount of cards you have made, that is a long time and I am sure she is thankful for all that you have done over the years.
Will enjoy seeing the new things you do now!

Well, that’s a long time. You were incredibly loyal as well. I know my favorite time at TJ was the newsletter and techniques, when I met you and we became friends. I still miss that, it filled a niche that is still open today even with Youtube and Splitcoast. And you were an important part of that. Be proud! I know it’s tough leaving but your wings are ready to spread. Big Hugs!! xoxo
