Hi stamping friends!
Are you still rushing to get your Christmas cards made? I finished all of mine, but find myself rushing around sewing and creating crafting projects for 25 of my coworkers. I’m also in a “Christmas” themed swap that has me creating nine squares. Eight are mailed and I keep one for myself. Got all of my diecuts cut out and in 20 individual baggies (I’m a gluten for punishment and am making extras to place on tags for Christmas presents). Today I am going to my girlfriend’s house where I will be gluing all the miniature pieces together. Pictures to follow.
The theme for the second swap, due the first week of January, is “winter” and boy do I have a wonderful idea for them. So exciting.
Did some Christmas baking with my girlfriend already, and today I need to do some baking for Al. He saw all of my baking supplies sitting out in a box and asked if I can bake him a cake with icing since I have all of my baking supplies out.
All of this in between working full time. LOL.
Today I’m sharing one of forty-five Christmas cards I made. Thankfully, I love to heat emboss because it took quite a few hours, over the course of three months. For the first time, I went with a slim line card, inspired by Gina K. After Gina K’s Holiday Tapestry stamp set arrived 1 1/2 years ago, I finally used it on this year’s cards. I love rich colours and here I used SU Cherry Cobbler with fine detailed gold embossing powder.

Gelli Plate Papers
Hello friends! One of my girlfriends and I get together twice a month to play–most of the time it is with our gelliplate. These are two samples of what I created using acrylic paints and stencils.
I’m quite pleased with how I am coming along with the Gelliplate. I love to use a variety of acrylic paints such as regular acrylic, Golden brand, Color Shift, Izink Ice.

Roses are Red
Hello folks! It’s been a long time since I blogged. On February 1st I will have a new blog and will leave a link to my new blog for you right here. New things are coming. Aren’t I such a tease?
Here I combined Stampin’ Up! flowers and leaves, with Tim Holtz’s leaves. The pretty red and green paper was made by me, using Color Bursts. I’ll be making a video of this style of card and it will be posted to my new blog.
Any guesses about the colour scheme I have picked for my new blog?

Crisp Autumn Day
Hello fellow stampers! Thanks for joining me today. As always, I appreciate you.
Today I am showcasing Stampin Ups Love of Leaves. Following along with Karen Buttery’s video tutorial for a “kissed” technique, I was inspired to order this stamp set. Here I am a year later, inking up my stamp set for the very first time. I must admit, I’m bad at desperately needing wanting a stamp set, only to leave it uninked for a very long time. Do you do the same thing? Please tell me you do.
Karen Buttery’s work really speaks to me. No, not in the paranormal sense, rather it makes my heart go pitter patter. As my girlfriend just told me, she sees my style as being busy. I’ll admit, I do love detailed work. Try as I may, I cannot achieve a clean and simple look.
Following along with Karen’s tutorial, this is what turned out. I created a background like Karen’s, and then created a few more backgrounds, but left a lot of space for me to cut individual leaves with coordinating dies. I actually made three cards. My motto is why make just one card, when you can make multiples. This leaves me with cards already on-hand to give out. Easy peasy.

Honey Bee
Hello stamping friends! Do you find yourself going to the stamp set time and time again? This Stampin’ Up! Honey Bee stamp and die set is one of those sets I love to use. Last year, I made 20 desk calendars using this set. Today I’m using Honey Bee which I followed along with a tutorial called Peek-a-Boo card. You can visit the tutorial here.

Gelliplate Fun
Hello folks! How is your weekend going? When Carol and I get together, it’s our time to play and experiment. We love to experiment using our gelliplate, as I’ve said many times. Today I’m going to showcase a few pieces that I’m very happy with. Mind you, it takes a lot of “pulls” before I achieve something I really like. This is an example of a pull that I’m loving.
These are examples of “pulls” that used acrylic paint, IZINK ICE glaze finish, acrylic metallic paint, and Color Shift acrylic paint.
TIP
Do not clean off all of the left-behind paint on your Gelliplate. It makes for intriguing backgrounds. When you reach the point where you want to clean off the Gelliplate, the paint that works well is from Michael’s. It is “Artist Loft” Professional Level 3, in the colour parchment.
This is not a Gelliplate background, rather a background using a straw, soapy water and cardstock. Watercolour paper can be used too.

Happy Birthday
Hello fellow stampers! How’s your week going?
I’m finding myself turning to my Stampin’ Up! sets more and more. There just doesn’t seem like there’s enough time to create the large number of cards that I used too for a couple of reasons. I dabble in other things now which takes me away from card-making. I have three knitting projects on the go, a painting project (an old chair that is going to be multi-coloured). I get together regularly with a couple of girlfriends to work on our projects. Currently, I’m working on a really neat project with my friend. We are working with the Gelliplate. Aside from that I work full-time. Al is a great sport and puts up with my many hours in my stamp room. When I make a card, I tend to make multiples, thus the slow-down in new work from me. All that said, I love it all.
Tell me something. What projects are you working on, or like to do and just can’t seem to find the time?

Perched in a Tree
Hello fellow stampers and friends! Hope you’re enjoying the weekend. Doing anything special in this warm weather before the cold sets in?
Al and I went camping during the week, which was the inspiration behind this card. While walking along we saw so many Canadian Geese, which is a sure sign the colder weather is near. Went on a small hike to see a small waterfall and on another hike we walked through the woods. Needless to say, inspiration was drawn from our hike in the woods. I have no Canadian Geese stamps. LOL.
Back home, I decided I’d better get busy in my stamp room. I thought I had a recent post, but looking at my “dashboard” I see my last post was on September 7th. Bad me. I’ll try to do better.
Card Details
- Two-tone sun-ray done in SU Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight. To do this I used my blending brushes.
- Die cut the trees using SU Aspen Tree Dies
- Lightly inked SU Crumb cake onto the trees
- Cut out greenery using SU Aspen Tree Dies. To add depth, greenery sits behind the trees and in front as well.
- Stamped out tree branch using SU Chocolate Chip
- Blue Bird was coloured with Prismacolor Pencil Crayons and blended with odourless mineral spirits (I googled and found a bird that looks like this one, and I coloured it referencing the photo)
- Bird and branch were glued onto trees
- For more added dimension pop dots were placed on the back of the trees and adhered to the card front
