Stampin’ Up! Saturday

Hello folks!

Lovin’ my Stampn’ Up! Hedgehugs stamp set.  My son is crazy for hedgehogs and hopes to take after his grandfather in owning one.

Hope you’re having a wonderful weekend!

Go Wild

Good morning fellow stampers.  Today’s card was inspired by the Bokeh technique.  Using Whimsical Garden from Technique Junkies, I stamped out the image four times and then filled in the open area with a phrase from Things I want to do.

You can receive these, or any other product (except clearance items), at 10% off simply by using my code TJ10Beth.

Last night I taught a card class and it was so much fun.  The group was small, but very enthusiastic, which just makes me happy.  They learned to use the Bigshot to emboss and cut some dies.  We finished the class in 60 minutes, which surprised all of us.

Hope you have a great day! Thanks for stopping by!

DDD June Kit Challenge

Hello there.  Thanks for popping in today.

Today’s card was inspired by a kit from Terry L. from the Dueling Darlings group in which I am a member.  Tami (Divas) and Terry L (Dazzlers) decided to use “what we have” to create a kit with “Halloween” being the theme.

By now you know I love to make 3-D cards, and this kit lends itself to doing just that.  This is called the Bendi card, and everything, except the tree die, was in the kit.

For a tutorial on the Bendi card, please see here.

Images were coloured with copic markers.  Background was sponged with black and Pumpkin Pie.

The following are the products I used from the kit sent to me:

Images and sentiment:  My Favorite Things “Witch Way is the Candy?”

Papers:  The Paper Studio

Enamel dots:  The Paper Studio

Die cuts:  A Muse fence, spider web and bats.

Whimsical Garden

Good morning folks!  I had so much fun making this card that I decided it is one of two cards I teach at my card class for my co-workers.  I used Technique Junkies Whimsical Garden, and if you use TJ10Beth discount code you automatically receive 10% off of the stamp and any other product you add to your cart (minus clearance stamps).

I stamped out my flower, and with a hole punched in a sticky note I blened ink to create a solid image on my flower, then I took a Q-tip and blended in the centre colour.

Well, Al bought a power  boat and we had lots of fun this weekend.  We spent many hours on the boat going for a ride, and just docked.  It gave me a chance to catch up on some reading.  I love being outdoors.  Because my photos are all on my phone, I’ll be sure to take some with my camera so I can upload them for you to see.

Happy Stamping!

Technique Junkies June New Release and Discount

Hello stampers!  It’s the first of the month and time for the new release for Technique Junkies.  How exciting is that?!  Stamps are 15% off until June 8th, and if you use my code TJ10Beth, you will get an additional 10% off.  That’s a whooping 25% off.  Can’t get any better than this.  All other products are 10% off with my code.  Go wild!

My first card turned out just the way I imagined it would.  I stamped my Born to Fish, set of 5, stamp onto glossy cardstock, using black Stazon, then made a relection by stamping the image (with Stazon) onto a piece of clear overhead projection sheet.  Next, I placed it upside down, directly under the image and whalaa, I achieved a reflection.

The moon was masked and I used blue and green on my brayer, with a hint of pink to make purple.  So fun!

My second card uses three different stamps from the new release:  Nautical Doodles, Vintage Lighthouse and Make a Splash.

I used Night of Navy and Real Red papers and ink.  I  heat embossed with white onto the background.  Looks cool, eh?

Ruffle your Feathers

Hello fellow stampers!  How do you like my five hour card?  Yup, five hours to make this card.  I knew that I wanted a rustic look, and the planning took so many hours to do, replacing idea after idea, until I finally found the right combination of stamps, embossing powder and colours.  Please tell me you find yourself in the same position as me.  I can’t be the only one to spend so many hours planning out a card.

This stamp, called Ruffle your Feathers, is a new release for Technique Junkies for the month of May.  Don’t despair that you missed out on the “new release discount” because you can grab my code TJ10Beth for 10% off of anything in the store, excluding clearance items.

  1. Stamp Little Checkerboard in black ink over white cardstock
  2. Stamp Plaid in red over white cardstock
  3. Heat emboss Chicken Wire 2 with gold embossing powder
  4. Layer each stamped image as shown above
  5. Add a black border around the card front and around the image, and complete by adding a gold border around both the card front and image

Dueling Darlings May Kit Challenge

This month it was Shelly’s turn to send the Dazzler’s a kit and she chose the theme Masculine/Motorcycles.  I am so pleased with how nice the papers all coordinate so well.  As someone who uses bright colours most of the time, these colours are a welcome change.  I am in love with plaid and used the plaid side rather than the backside.  It is always fun to see what the Dazzler’s and Diva’s do with their kits.  It’s amazing how different each card looks.

Card Supplies:

  • Motorcycle stamp, Artistic Outpost
  • Sentiment, unknown source
  • Ribbon, SU
  • Dew Drops
  • Designer paper – gray, Kaiserkraft
  • Designer paper – wood grain, Moxie
  • Designer paper – plaid, Reminince
  • Matt backing – SU Early Espresso (this is from my stash)

Thanks, Shelly, for the great kit!

Free Spirit

Hello there.  First, let me apologize for the poor lighting.  When I took a bunch of photos there was no sun for days.  Just rain.

I fell in love with this stamp called Free Spirit because it reminded me of my cousin, Terry Ann, who is a free spirit.  She has a business doing Reiki, Indi Head Massage, Massages, and card readings.

This stamp can be yours at 10% off simply by using my code TJ10Beth.  There are four stamps in this set which you can see here.

Have I told you how much I love my Misti?  It came in very handy when I “coloured” my stamp.  Using Tombow markers, I coloured my stamp in small sections and stamped out my image multiple times until I was satisfied with the darkness of colour.

My background was created by cutting multiple blue shades of cardstock, in an angular direction.  After gluing on my cardstock with Modge Podge, I trimmed the edges once it was dry.  Next, I ran my background through my Big Shot (yes, after 10 years my Cuttlebug bit the dust) using a wood grain embossing folder.

You’ll be seeing more of this stamp set, that’s for sure!

Thanks for stopping by!

Technique Junkies May 2019 Release

Hello and welcome to the May Release for Technique Junkies.  I was so in love with these images that I completed four cards in two days, after I was done work at my day job.  First to business.  You can receive new releases at 15% off and if you use my code TJ10Beth you will receive 25% off of new releases.  This runs until May 8th, and once that is gone, you can use TJ10Beth for 10% off your order.  When the 15% discount ends, you can still catch a deal by using TJ10% for 10% off your entire order, excluding clearance items.

Now onto my cards.  Because I’m showcasing only four cards, it was hard for me to decide which four to showcase, so I started with my favourite called Live In Color.  I have a beautiful watercolour designer paper pad, which I used because it coordinated with the sentiment and my colouring.

My second card is perfect for upcoming Father’s Day.  I am making mine for an uncle who is so good to me, as my dad passed quite some time ago.  I love how my uncle is tickled by receiving my cards.  I used the newly released Golf Club Patent, and an older stamp called Happy Father’s Day. I stamped onto Kraft with VersaFine and highlighted with a white coloured pencil. Because the golf club are rounded, I rounded the corners of my card.

I wanted to make an elegant card because this lady looks so elegant.  By using gold, black and white papers, I believe I achieved a classy feel to my card.  This image is called Be a Legend.  I coloured the lady with Copic markers.

My last card was made using this month’s free stamp.  How can you get this free stamp, you ask?  Simply by placing a $30 order before taxes and shipping.  My free sentiment is called Wish Upon a Star.

Card Details:

  • Stamp Watercolor Flowers with VersaMark and gold embossing powder onto white tissue paper and heat emboss
  • Tear tissue and adhere with a light coat of Modge Podge
  • Using designer paper for the left side of your card, tear the edges to keep things cohesive with the torn tissue paper
  • Stamp out Wish Upon a Star sentiment in the right corner where there is no tissue paper
  • Cut out star with, or without a die, using sparkling paper or Shimmering Bliss Chestnut Mare
  • Place three gems under the sentiment
