Technique Junkies March New Release Celebration is here!

Hello, and welcome to the Technique Junkies March Release Celebration.  Boy, do we have some awesome stamps for you!  All newly released March stamps are 15% off until March 8th, and on top of that, by using my discount code TJ10Beth, you will get an additional 10% off your shopping cart.  It doesn’t get better than this!

One of my favourite things to work with is stencils and sponging ink over top of the stencil.  TJ has a lot of wonderful A Colorful Life Stencils, and you can receive my 10% discount on those as well.  I coloured Easter Basket with Prismacolor coloured pencils and odorless mineral spirits (OMS) and added blue around the edge of my scallop die.  My sentiment is called Happy Easter and is not a new release.

Ahhh, spring!  With all this snow and ice we are having this winter, isn’t it nice to think spring?!  This beautiful tulip stamp is called Tulips Background and is paired with In Full Bloom Sentiments, Set of 6.  The sentiments can stand on their own, or be paired with another stamp quite nicely.  Once again, I used Prismacolor coloured pencils and OMS.

For my third card I used the Cute Cuts technique that I developed for the Technique Junkie Newsletter.  You can see the tutorial here.  If you take a peak at my tutorial, you will see the most adorable 12 x 12 scrapbook layout I did with my dog, Layla.  Back then I had two white chihuahuas and they were just 3 pounds each.  Boy, do I miss them–even after all these years.

For this card I did not use coloured cardstock, rather I used TJ’s Shimmering Bliss on several different sheets of paper, and placed it on a Shaving Cream background.

My stamp is called Wildly Capable and is free with a $30 (before taxes) purchase for the month of March.

A Rose for You

Hello folks!  I’m ready for spring–how about you?  My mom is anxious to get out into her gardens. She just moved from Georgia to Mississippi and has lovely gardens.  Living in Canada, and not being able to plant until June, planting in March is foreign to me, so paper flowers will have to do.

I am in love with this Rose Frame, and I think the TJ design team is too as I see it being posted a lot.  Did you know you can receive this stamp, or any stamp/product, at 10% off simply by using TJ10Beth? And, this month you will receive a stamp called Something Creative stamp for free with your $30 purchase.

Here, I used Inktense watercolour pencils.

Think spring!

Same Stamps, Two Different Looks

Hello folks!  Are you tired on winter yet?  We are expecting our third snow and ice storm this month.  It’s been brutal.  Frankly, I’m ready for spring; to be able to walk outdoors again and hear the birds singing early in the morning.

I’ve been so motivated lately and have been playing in my studio a lot.  As I said before, I love creating and find it so hard to upload, resize, and post to my blog.  I try to get creative as much as I can before I crash and become unmotivated.

I am playing with some new stamps from Technique Junkies and felt motivated to create two different looks, using the same two stamps:  Retro Blooms and Something Creative.

If you use my discount code TJ10Beth you can receive a 10% off your shopping cart.  And guess what?!  With a $30 purchase, you can receive Something Creative FREE!

My card started out like this, for both cards, but in different colours.  I sponged three colours of ink on my cardstock and put my stamp into my Misti and stamped the image out several times.’

Using A Colorful Life Stencil called, Classic Harlequin, I used three colours of Nuvo Mousse.  The directions said to use a soft cloth to apply, so I used a dried out baby wipe cloth and it worked with the Mousse beautifully.

Thanks for hanging in there for my long post.  Have a great week!

A is for Artificial Christmas Tree

Hi folks, I’m late for this challenge in my stamping group.  Had it made in time but was too “lazy” to film it, resize it and post it.  It can be a real mental challenge for me and I wonder how many are in the same boat?

I created my “artificial tree” with scraps of DP and stamped Technique Junkies’ Big Flourish.  It adds a flare like a snow-like breeze surrounding the tree.  You can receive Big Flourish, or any other product that you’d like for 10% off simply by using code TJ10Beth at your checkout.

Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Waterfall Card

Hi folks!  Opps, I see I need to add a piece of twin in my eyelit.  My granddaughter is turning 2 already and I made her a Waterfall Card.  She loves flap books so this card will surely give her a treat.  My stamps are from Stampn’ Up.  Gosh, Zoofari is such an old stamp, and I bought it keeping in mind I need children’s stamps.

This shows you how it looks when the tab is pulled.

Have a super day!

Technique Junkies February Release

Wow, didn’t you find the month of January zipped right by us?  It’s hard to believe February’s new release is here already.  Let me tell you–I had a blast making cards for this release.  You can find all the stamps in the new release here.  These stamps will be 15% off until February 8th.  If you are so inclined to purchase other products/stamps with your order you can receive 10% off just by using my code TJ10Beth. If you visit the Technique Junkies blog you will find a list of blogs participating in the new release showcase.

My first stamp comes from our Janine Tinklenberg Mitten State Stamps line.  Isn’t this a beautiful stamp?  I watercoloured this stamp, called Rose Frame, with watercolour pencils on watercolour paper. Get Well Soon was added.

Beth Norman
Ceal Pritchett
Giovana Smith
Janelle Stollfus
Janine Tinklenberg
Jeanne Streiff
Judy Jackson
Lynda Pleckan
Pat Huntoon
Ro Donner
Stephanie Severin
Vicki Garrett

Using Just Dreams, I made four of these cards to have on hand.  I’m trying to make four to six of each card so I have a good stock on hand.

I was going for a vintage look with this Just a Hug stamp.  Again, I made four of these cards.

This is one heck of a stamp!!  It is called Floral Framed Sentiments Set of 6.  The flowers are two stamps and you can use any of the four enclosed sentiments for the centre:  Happy Birthday, Congratulations, Happy Anniversary and Get Well Soon.  This is a fabulous set!

New this month!
Spend $30.00 February 1 – 8th and receive this stamp for free:

I hope you enjoyed my cards as much as I enjoyed making them.  Thanks for stopping by!

Hello folks!

This is the first of my New Years Resolutions: to make Christmas cards earlier.  I made 8 of these beauties.  I used Houndstooth Check, Big Flourish and Joy stamps which you can receive at 10% off simply by using TJ10Beth.

I have owned this Poinsettia die for many years and finally cracked it open. Do you do the same thing?

I had so much fun heat embossing my Big Flourish with gold embossing powder. It adds a whimsical feel to my card.

Are you making Christmas cards early too?

Have a great week!

Make a Tree Set

Hello stampers. How is your week going so far?  I’m busy stamping and knitting.  Being hooked on two hobbies is time-consuming, eh?!

I had fun with this Make a Tree Set of 12 and also In my Prayers. which you can receive at 10% off by using my code TJ10Beth.

I stamped out my tree in brown and coloured the leaves with Tombow markers, adding some shadow onto the bottom of the leaves for extra dimension, and huffed on the stamp to moisten the ink and stamped out the leaves several times.  Next, I added the birds, from Make a Tree Set.

To add even more dimension I sponged ink around the edges of the card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Happy 30th Birthday to my son

After owning this stamp set for almost a year, I finally used it for my son’s 30th birthday.  He is crazy about Pandas and visited the Toronto, Canada zoo numerous times just to see the pandas and is known to stand there for two hours at a time.  He wrote the zoo to thank them for bringing in the pandas, on loan from China, and next thing you know he received a letter from Canada’s Prime Minister thanking him for his interest in the Pandas, explaining why it was so important to having them in the Toronto Zoo.  How cool is that?!

So, Adam, happy 30th!

Not my Circus

Hello there.  I hope you are all well and having a great week.

My card uses Technique Junkies Not my Circus.  The technique used is Waxy Window from the August 2014 issue of the Technique Junkie Newsletter.  I picked this technique because I wanted to something unique with this stamp and this technique certainly fits the bill.  You can find the technique here.

Are you interested in receiving 10% off your order? Simply use TJ10Beth.

Did you make any New Years Resolutions?  Mine are all craft related:

  1. Clean up my stamp room (with some help)
  2. Stamp more.  Post more.
  3. Make my Christmas cards early this year.  I’ve already made 8.
  4. Keep my mojo in check.

What are your resolutions?

Thanks for stopping by!
