It’s Christmas in July

Hello folks.  This was a very hard card to photograph because of the pigmented Mica watercolors I used.  Ever since I saw Draped Ornaments, I’ve been wanting to try this technique which is very pretty in real life.  You can get Draped Ornaments, or any other stamp, such as Merry Christmas 2, which was used on my card, at 10% off simply by using TJ10Beth.

Steps to Making My Card:

  1.  Using an embossing buddy, wipe the entire surface of your black paper
  2. Stamp VersaMark on your stamp and stamp it out.  Heat emboss in gold or silver (I did both and both looked great)
  3. Using a small brush and water, paint the ornaments with Mica powders
  4. Using your enbossing buddy, once again, rub the area that you want your sentiment to be and stamp out your sentiment with VersaMark
  5. Heat emboss in gold or silver
  6. Mat with shiny paper if you have it

Merry Christmas

Hello friends and fellow stampers.  I hope you had a nice Christmas.  Here in Canada it is a statutory holiday we call Boxing Day.  Unfortunately I have to work, but am off for the next two days and will be doing some entertaining for dinner.  I made a large enough Turkey that there would be left overs for Turkey Pot Pie.

Jane Bosi inspired me with a card that was recently posted on the Design Junkie Facebook page.  I used Whimsy Branch on my background, a well-loved stamp by myself.  Currently, it is in inventory reduction at an unbelieveable price of $4.52.

Paired with Whimsy Branch is Merry Christmas, which is at regular pricing.

Merry Christmas Angel

Hello friends.  Today I have a Penny Black stamp to share with you.  I coloured it with Copic markers.

I have a new version of Photoshop and resizing is killing me.  Can you please let me know if this image is too small?  I’m going through a learning curve with Photoshop and I’m not winning.

This card is going to my granddaughter for her first Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas Cocktail-Four Ways

Hello fellow stampers and friends.  Today I’m using Technie Junkie’s Christmas Cocktail and made four styles for you.  I just love this stamp. It is perfect for those friends who enjoy a drink for the holidays.  I also like it for the humour on it.

I created a colourful stamped out image by placing my image in my Misti and colouring small areas at a time with a Tombow and SU markers right onto the stamp.  Then I huff to rewet the marker and repeat approximately three times per area so I get a nice crisp colour.  I found it relaxing while I watched Christmas movies on TV.  Yes indeed, I’m in the Christmas spirit.

The bow die came from a UK papercrafts magazine.

Here I used gold paper from Paper  It is nice and heavy and comes in many colours.  I embossed my background with a poinsettia-like embossing folder.

I don’t often use ribbon, so I wanted to see how ribbon would look with this image.

Now for my favourite version.  Sadly, I ruined the right hand side as the black was not even.  Again, I used the gold from

Which one is your favourite?

Technique Junkies 30 Days of Christmas – Day 3

Hello fellow stampers and friends.  Technique Junkies is doing the 30 days of Christmas and this is the card I made for Day 2 of this delightful series.  To see what the Design Team, and Pat, made you can take a peak on Design Junkies.

I created my card by following a You Tube video.  I made 10 of these cards to send out.

I stamped out Flourished Christmas Tree with white embossing powder and watercoloured with my Distress markers.  Once dried I stamped out Magic of Christmas.

Christmas stamps will be 20% off for the duration of the 30 Days of Christmas.  If you use my code, seen below, you will get an additional 10% off your Christmas stamps.

There is a new challenge up for Technique Junkies which you can see here.  Hope to see you there!

Technique Junkies September New Release

Welcome to the September release of Technique Junkies stamps.  We have a tremendous amount of stamps being released this month, and I’m sure you’ll find something that will inspire you.  There are both autumn and Christmas stamps.

If you arrived from Ro Donner’s blog, you’re on the right track, but if you didn’t, you might want to start from the beginning at the Design Team Blog.  Didn’t Ro do a great job?

This month we have Lydia Fielder as guest designer.

There will be two $100 Technique Junkie gift certificates up for grabs this month.  The more blogs you leave comments on, the better your chances are to win one of those grand prizes.  Gift Certificate winners will be picked on September 5th.

You have until September 8th to purchase any new release for 15% off.

For my first card I created cracked glass on my Beautiful Autumn stamp.  To keep with the crackle theme, I stamped Medium Porcelain Crackle stamp (note:  this stamp is not a new release) onto my background, and finished off the card with a ribbon.

My next card uses the Christmas Cocktail stamp and was a labour of love.  Using my Misti, I coloured one section at a time with a watercolour marker and huffed on that area and stamped. I repeated this step three times for each colour used.  I have a girlfriend that will go bonkers over this card when I give it to her at Christmas.

I think Draped Ornaments is my favourite Christmas stamp released this year, and am so excited to own it.  As you know, I love to colour and have 9 more to colour and turn into Christmas cards.  My sentiment comes from the lovely Gifts of Christmas set where there are five wonderful sentiments. It’s like these two stamps were made for each other.

Finally, my last card uses a Halloween themed stamp. The new release is the sentiment with the broom called We’re Flexible, paired with an older release called Birdie Tree.

I hope you enjoyed my cards. Your next stop is the ubber talented Judy Jackson.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all my readers, and my friends I made through the rubberstamping community.

This card was coloured with Prismacolor pencil crayons in a class I took with Bev Fish, of Fishtale Studio in Wallaceburg, Ontario.

It is my hope to post more in 2017.

It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas

Hi Folks! I was inspired to make six snowmen from something I saw on Pinterest.  The snowmen on Pinterest used a die, where I hand drew my snowmen, scarf and arms.  I used an SU button die and a star die on the scarf and one on the body that is nice and glittery.  I stamped my snowman with Vintage Music from Technique Junkies.  I distressed the edges with brown ink and painted the eyes and nose with acrylic paint.

Christmas will soon be upon us.  May your house be filled with Christmas spirit and lots of joy with family and friends.

Thanks for stopping by.

Merry Christmas to my Co-Workers

Each Christmas I give my co-workers my handmade dishcloths, and every year I try to decorate them differently.  This year I used Hero Arts little birds and Technique Junkies Merry Christmas stamp on my handmade gift tag.
