Triple the Fun with Joyeux Noel

Joyeux Noel   As the Technique Junkies celebrate the 30 Days of Christmas, we are seeing lots of fantastic work from Pat and her design team.

All Christmas stamps are on sale at 25% off from November 15 to December 15.

I used Triple the Fun found here.  The technique is very easy and fun to do.  Last year I made all of my Christmas cards using this technique and the card below is what I made.

Don’t they look so different with traditional and non traditional colours.  Which one is your favourite?  Mine is the non traditional colours.

Joyeux Noel

sunflowers-and-dragonflies-joyeux-noel

Hello folks.  Are you filled with as much Christmas spirit as I am?  After making two styles of Christmas cards (this was one of them), I realized 35 cards wasn’t enough so off I am to make 20 more of these Santa cards this evening.

Technique Junkies has a lot of wonderful sentiments that would work for this card, but I settled on Joyeux Noel because French is Canada’s second language and it just somehow felt fitting to use it.

Right now all Christmas stamps are 25% off until December 15th.  You can see all the Christmas stamps here.  Technique Junkies is having the 30 days of Christmas where a new card is made by Pat and the design team for 30 days which runs through to December 15th.  You can see the cards on the Design Junkies blog.

Now onto the deets on my card.  I follow Stamp & Scrap with Frenchie and she posted this card with a video tutorial.  Her tutorial was very easy to follow, thus making 20 of these cards very easy.

Have a very nice day, and thank you for stopping by!

All is Calm, All is Bright

technique-junkies-sunflowers-and-dragonflies-all-is-calm-1

Hello fellow stampers.  This was a very fun card to make as I did some experimenting with clear embossing powder with flecks of silver, which you will see better below.  I had to take my card at this angle so you can see the beauty of the stamp itself.

This Technique Junkies background stamped called Pinecones really intrigued me and after pondering what I was going to do to showcase its’ beauty, I settled on taking a finger dauber and I inked up the pine needles in SU’s Old Olive and sponged the pinecones with Distress Ink in Walnut Stain.  Next, I lightly spritzed the stamp with water to reactivate the ink and quickly stamped it out on vanilla cardstock.

After the image dried, I covered the card front with VersaMark and then sprinkled Tsukinek #06 Sparkle over top and heat embossed.  You can see the sparkle below.

All Christmas stamps are 25% off from November 15 to December 15th.

The last step was to stamp out All is Calm in black, then it was cut with an oval scallop die and sponged the edges using Old Olive.

Thank you for stopping by.  You truly made my day!

We Wish You a Merry Christmas

we-wish-you-a-merry-christmas

Now that Thanksgiving is behind us, it’s time to think Christmas.  I seriously need to kick butt this year and get started on my cards.  I made three of these cards which are so much prettier in real life.

To create my background I used the Grunged Stencil technique found on the Technique Junkie Sensational Stencils CD.  Through my stencil I sponged on Distress Inks in Salty Ocean, Picked Raspberry and Peeled Paint.  Next, I heat embossed a turquoise powder to coordinate with my Salty Ocean.  I added pink Washi tape and Stampn Up white pearls.

Have you started on your Christmas cards?

Supplies:

Technique Junkies Christmas Release Blog Hop

sunflowers-and-dragonflies-technique-junkies-safari-santa

Welcome to the Technique Junkies new release blog hop.  If you like Christmas stamps as much as I do, you’re in for a treat.  You’ll see that I had lots of fun, and I want you to have fun too, so be sure to start at the Design Junkies blog where it is the start to the hop.  If you came from the talented Kathy Stacy’s blog, then you’re on the right track.  Kathy always thinks outside the box, which is why I love her work so much.

My card above uses Safari Santa and was watercoloured onto watercolour paper with Tombow markers.  The image was stamped out twice so I could cute the hat and layer it with pop dots, and in real life it looks really cute.  White stickles were added to the fur and ball of the hat.

For my second card I used Christmas Carol Kitty who is singing “Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree, you’re ornaments are history.”  Pretty funny, eh?!

In my background I used Flourished Christmas Tree from last year’s Christmas release (sorry, this stamp is not on sale).

My colour comes from spraying my watercolour paper and tapping Color Bursts on top, and then respraying lightly.

For my third card I created a background using the Shaving Cream Technique and stamped Calm & Bright over top of that.

Now it’s time to go and have fun at Pam DeChellis’ blog where you will find some awesome work.

New release stamps on sale for 15% off until October 10th.

Tis the season to be thinking of making your handmade cards, and to start things off, Pat Huntoon, owner of Technique Junkies, is giving you all a sneak peak at her upcoming October release.  Here is my card I’m sharing a little early, using Merry Christmas Wishes.

I fell in love with this stamp the moment I saw it and thought it would work well with Jennifer McGuire’s technique which you can see on her video here.

Starting today and running through October 10th, new release stamps will be on sale at 15% off.  That’s one heck of a deal.

Happy Holidays!

Charlie Brown Christmas

Sunflowers and Dragonflies, Charlie Brown Christmas

Hello folks.  I hope you are enjoying the Christmas and holiday season.  I still find myself making Christmas cards, and this is one I just completed.  For my birthday my son bought me Peanut stamps so I thought since we just saw the Peanuts movie I would turn these stamps into a Christmas card by simply matting the images on Christmas coloured cardstock and Christmas paper.  Magic of Christmas was stamped as the title.

This card will go to my son with a gift card in it.

Happy Holidays!

How to Decorate a Christmas Candle

Hello fellow stampers.  Today I am here with a fun Christmas project for you.  Decorating candles with Technique Junkie stamps and embellishments are a fun way to give out as gifts.  I used Ornament 1 and a variety of embellishments.  I hope my tutorial will inspire you to decorating a candle too.

Supplies:  variety of coloured ink pads, white tissue paper, wax paper, stamp(s), ribbon, flowers, heat gun, candle and embellishments

Measure your tissue paper by rolling tissue paper around candle and cut where the two ends meet.  Stamp your image(s) in your desired pattern.

Wrap your tissue paper around your candle.

Measure your wax paper in the same manner as you measured your tissue paper and tightly wrap the wax paper in place, holding the edges closed.

Using your heat gun, melt the wax paper in place.  Do not hold the gun in one place too long or the candle will melt.

Add ribbon on the top and bottom of the candle to hide the edges of the wax paper.  Continue to embellish your candle as desired.
