Christmas in the Woods

Happy New Year!  I hope you had a nice New Years Eve.  Here in Ontario, gatherings are limited to 5 people due to the rapid spread of the new Covid virus.  I hope you all stay safe and healthy this year.

2022 is going to be a year to excel in my creativity with the Gelliplate, art journals, and more.  This card was created for Carol, one of my besties, who is an artist herself.  She has been published in the July 2004 edition of Stampers Sampler where she completed six tags–five with a unique pair of flip flops using ribbon, beads, etc.

From her I am learning to use the GelliPlate and this is one of my backgrounds.  I cut my Gelli paper to a slimline size and added some Lavinia Stamps trees and embossed script writing. Because I did not have the stamp to elongate a tree, I elongated the trunk myself using a Micron 05 black pen.  Black ink was added to the edges of the Gelli paper and tiny little holes were burned which you can see on the top third of my card.  To complete the design I added red twine with a silver-plated silver charm from Michaels.  I love the texture mixed media gives.

Carol and I get together throughout each month to work on “art” whether it be teaching each other things or experimenting with things.  We’ve had fun making hot glue stencils, learning to burn holes into paper, making art journals, and following along with Somerset Studio and Art Journal magazines to learn more and just have some good laughs and fooling around.  Who says women our age can’t be kids again.  LOL.

Have a great 2022!

Christmas Fairy

Hello stampers!  This card is one that I made 10 times over, and is the last of my Christmas cards to be made.  Yipee!  If you’re logged into Splitcoaststampers, you can see the card that I CASEd here.

It was fun working with Lavinia Stamps.  I do have many of them to create a variety of scenes.  This was the first time I used Lavinia Stamps.  Below is a list of stamps and products I used.

Don’t you like how the fairy glows?  I used Technique Junkies Imperial Yellow Shimmering BlissIf you use the discount code TJ10Beth, you can get 10% off this product, or any other product. Another thing that I would like to point out is the smooth finish I achieved by blending my ink with Ink Blending Brushes from Technique Junkies.  Using the mentioned discount code, you can also receive 10% off of the brushes.  There are so many lovely Christmas sentiments from Technique Junkies that I finally settled on Season Greetings on the outside and Believe in the Magic of Christmas on the inside .

Going on right now is the 30 Days of Christmas at Technique Junkies.  Christmas stamps in the Christmas category are 20% off, and you can get an additional 10% off by using my Discount code.

Happy Birthday to me!

Happy Birthday to me!  My birthday was in August, but I’m just posting this now.  Thanks to my mom, and other birthday money, I took a deep plunge and ordered Lavinia stamps.  I have been wanting these for ages as I lost my Stampscapes stamps between two moves.  Lavinia stamps come from overseas, and when I googled for a Canadian distributer, I found Ectasy Crafts.

Let me tell you, Ectasy Crafts totally blew me away with their customer service.  I ordered my stamps at 10 p.m., on a Tuesday, and the order was filled and shipped by Wednesday.  On Friday the box of stamps was received.

These stamps were larger than I thought they would be (I didn’t read the sizing details).  When I used my Lavinia stamps my cards will be 6 x 6.  Envelopes will be purchased at Crystal Clear Bags Canada.  Their prices cannot be beat.  And lucky for me, their head office is in the same city where my husband works so he can pick them up for me.

Do you have any Lavinia stamps?
