Stampn’ Up Saturday

Hello fellow stampers!  When my work schedule permits me to attend a Stampn’ Up card class with Mary Beth Phillips, I jump at the opportunity.  We always have fun in our little group filling the room with laughter and swapping of stories and maybe a little teasing here and there.

I enjoy our class because it gives us the opportunity to use products or stamps we might not otherwise use.

Today my girlfriend of 4y years (we went to school with each other in grade five through highschool and remaind friends) and her partner are coming over for a visit.  Al and I are going to take them to a winery and brewery and then go back to my place for a long night of chatter.

What plans do you have this weekend?

Saltwater heals Everything

Hello fellow stampers and friends!  This heat has been something else, eh?!  Al and I have been cooling down on our boat this summer.  Although we didn’t buy a sailboat, I am still feeling very nautical these days.  It brings back memories of our wedding and reception a year ago which had a nautical flair.

I live in Sarnia, Ontario, and it is on the water separating us from the U.S., so we are on the boat all the time.  When I’m working 3-11, Al will go down just to nap or putter around.  He’s a proud papa.

Today, my card was embossed with a wave embossing folder, and heat embossed with the Technique Junkies sentiment Saltwater Heals Everything.  I sponged colour onto Sailing Panel with a variety of ink pads and sponges.

All Technique Junkies stamps and products (excluding clearance rack) are 10% off simply by using my code TJ10Beth.

Have a great day, and stay cool!

Magical Unicorn

Isn’t this unicorn just the cutest?  Since joining the Dueling Darlings team, my love for cutsey has struck me again.  I made this card for my step-granddaughter who is turning 9.  I wanted a lasting memory for her, so I created a canvas for her wall.

Thanks for stopping by!

Dueling Darlings

Hello fellow stampers!  I’m so very excited to shout out that I’m now part of the Dueling Darlings team on Splitcoaststampers, and this is my very first post with them.

This group consists of Dueling Dazzlers (me) and Dueling Divas.  Each team is mailed a kit with the same theme.  The Dazzlers have one kit, and the Divas have another.  I was so thrilled with this month’s theme of Outer Space.  Here, we used MFT Space Explorer and coordinating dies.  Our posts go live on the 15th of each month.

Thank you Terry for such a wonderful kit.

Rather than making a flat card, I made a Pop Up Box card.  I made this style of card because I wanted to create the feeling of outer space.

The following was used in in the kit:

  • MFT Space Explorer and dies
  • DSP, MME Blastoff, Echo Park Lost in Space, Photoplay Infinity & Beyond, Photoplay Intergalactic
  • Embellishments:  Hampton art action wobble, Recollections star brads, Recollections bling, Darice baker’s twine

The most fun of belonging to this wonderful team is that we get to hop along to see how other’s used their kit.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Easter

Hello folks!  Are you making Easter cards this year?  I’m make a couple.  Of course I want to send one out to my 2 year old granddaughter, who is the most precious little girl.  But then again, don’t all of us grandmas say the same thing–LOL.

Made this some time ago and I no longer have the stamp so I can’t tell you the company.  It was one of my first stamps so it would be out of production.

Any plans for Easter?  I’m working Easter weekend, but I still might host Easter dinner.

Have a super weekend!

Happy Birthday

This card was made for my husband Al who celebrated his birthday recently.

I am so sad that my scenic stamps got lost in my move two years ago.  I had so many Stampscapes sets.  Grrr.

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

30 Days of Christmas, Day 23 – Technique Junkies

Hello and welcome to the 30 Days of Christmas.  If you are following along  are you inspired by all the beautiful cards from the design team?

During the 30 days of Christmas, every stamp in the Christmas category is 20% off. AND you can use my 10% TJ10Beth discount! That means that you will potentially get 30% off all Christmas stamps.

You can see the Christmas stamps here.

I had a lot of fun making this card.

  1. Find a piece of designer paper that isn’t busy, such as the blended colours one I used.  You can blend colours onto your own paper to create your own background.
  2. Using white embossing powder, heat emboss your background using the stamp above called Christmas Whimsy Background.
  3. Cut your squares at 1″ pieces and adhere to a piece of white cardstock measuring  4 1/2″ x 3 1/4″.
  4. Adhere your cardstock to a pieces of white cardstock  4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″.
  5. Use a coordinating colour of cardstock, size 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″, to mat your card.

30 Days of Christmas Day 16 – Technique Junkies

Hi folks.  Today I’m showing you how you can use a non traditional stamp and turn it into a Christmas card.  Here, I used Technique Junkies Creaking Trees.  I cut off the sentiment so I could use the trees alone.  I paired the trees with the sentiment Joy.

During the 30 days of Christmas, every stamp in the Christmas category is 20% off. AND you can use my 10% TJ10Beth discount! That means that you will potentially get 30% off all Christmas stamps

You can see the Christmas stamps here.

Here I used sparkly white ribbon.  Which is your favourite?

In two days you will see an amazing new release from Technique Junkies.  Please don’t forget to come back.

Technique Junkies September New Release

Hello fellow stampers. Welcome to the Technique Junkies September new releaseAll new release stamps are 15% off until September 8th You can get any older stamp, or other products at 10% off by using my code TJ10Beth.  The new release stamps are automatically discounted so you can use my code at checkout.

If you came from my fellow ubber stamper Judy Jackson you are on the right track.  You might want to start at the beginning at the Design Junkies blog so you don’t miss a thing.

For my first card I coloured Autumn Doodles with Copic markers and Prismacolor coloured pencil and added my sentiment from an older set called Things I want to do.

Here, I used Rita and Beth. In real life Rita, the artist of this stamp, has gorgeous bluish purple hair so I just had to add it to this image.  I paper pieced the clothing.  My sentiment comes from an older stamp set called Things I want to do.  It says, “Tell people you love them.”

Rainy Day Friends is another Rita drawn stamp.  I paper pieced the umbrella, and I made the flowers using Shimmering Bliss.  The tutorial I made, showing how to make these flowers can be seen here.

If you came from the ubber talented Judy Jackson’s blog you’re on the right track. You might want to start at Design Junkies so you don’t miss a thing

For my first card I used All the Moms, Set of Three stamp all around the sides of my Pop up Box Card.  You can find the directions to making this box on Splitcoaststampers.  If you order your stamp now, you will have lots of time to get a box made for your mother, as Mother’s Day is fast approaching.  Trust me, this is a very easy card to make.  It may look intimidating but it isn’t.

I stamped Happy Mother’s Day on each flap.  It is just one, of two, Happy Mother’s Day sentiments that come with this set.

Okay, I couldn’t resist doing another fold.  This one is called Tri Shutter Card.  I had lots of fun with this stamp set called Party Chicks, Set of 12.  I coloured my chicks with Copic markers.  Isn’t it fun?

My last card uses the stamp Wildflowers.  She reminds me of myself, a free spirit.  Flower Soft was added to her hair.  I created my background and recently did a tutorial on it called Mixed Media.  I thought it was perfect for this image.  Not in the new release, but is 10% off if you used my code TJ10Beth, is Love Harlequin and Big Flourish.  The background was coloured with Gelatos.
